To all City Makers,

Our mission is to support you, the City Makers, who make London epic. Very soon, we’ll be ready to start offering you amazing places to live at very affordable rents. It’ll be up to you when it’s time to move on.

The lack of affordable housing is a crisis for everyone in London. The city wouldn’t function without nurses, teachers and other key workers. And it’d lose part of its soul if the people who nourished us with their creativity, can’t afford the rent.

You’re paying eye watering rents for low quality homes you could be thrown out of at any time. It’s no wonder London is already suffering from an acute shortage of nurses and teachers. It is no wonder London is losing you to so many other places – Lisbon, Birmingham, Berlin, Margate and Manchester to name but a few.

London’s rented housing market doesn’t work, so we’re going to show it can be done differently. CoHouse works with a new breed of responsible investor motivated by the wider impact of their investment on people and planet.

We’ve got these investors talking to City Makers about housing and they get it. They’re up for investing in us to create brilliant homes, which we’ll then rent out to you via introductions from our various partners. They’ll make less money in the short term, but understand the value of repurposing housing as the healthy organ it should be at the heart of society.

Best wishes
